Assistant Flower Buyer

Victoria Whitelaw Beautiful Flowers is seeking a motivated, hardworking Assistant Flower Buyer to join our team. This is a hands-on role working closely with Victoria, primarily at the Melbourne Wholesale Flower Market in Epping, with additional responsibilities across deliveries, events, and store operations.

This role suits someone who genuinely loves flowers, isn’t afraid of early mornings or physical work, and can operate confidently both as part of a team and independently.

The role will include:

• Assisting Victoria with flower buying at the Melbourne Wholesale Flower Market in Epping
• Attending buying trips independently on occasion
• Heavy lifting and fast-paced work at market
• Transporting flowers to stores and production locations
• Processing flowers for retail, corporate, weddings and events
• Completing Melbourne-wide retail flower deliveries
• Regular corporate client flower deliveries
• Assisting with installation, bump in and bump out of weddings and event floral styling
• Assisting with store set-up following buying mornings
  

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the floristry industry
• Strong knowledge of flower varieties and seasonality
• Physically fit and strong – heavy lifting is a key part of the role
• Available for very early starts (2–3 mornings per week)
• Australian manual driver’s licence and willing to drive a 3-tonne truck and vans
• Confident driving throughout Melbourne
• Well presented and professional
• Reliable, punctual and highly organised

This is a varied role with early starts, physical work, and plenty of responsibility, ideal for someone looking to deepen their experience in flower buying and large-scale floral operations.

Senior Flower Stylist

We are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic Senior Flower Stylists to join our South Yarra and Brighton stores. Both casual and permanent positions are available, working across our luxury retail stores as well as corporate, wedding, and event styling.

What we’re looking for:

• A highly creative and skilled florist with a genuine passion for flowers, strong design skills, and an eye for detail.
• Someone who is motivated, energetic, and a true team player, willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional after-hours events.
• Professional presentation and a commitment to high standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ professional floristry experience.
• Currently living in Melbourne with a valid visa to work in Australia.
• Please note: We are only considering experienced applicants with proven floristry experience.
